We replace rotten fascia boards: a soft corner, a run along the gutter line or a whole gable. The rot is cut back to sound timber, new board goes in and is painted to match, and the eaves and trims behind it are made good. Where the gutter has to come off, the licensed plumber we work with refits it.

Most fascia jobs are one of these, and many old homes need two or three at once.
Corners go first, because that is where gutter joins leak and two boards meet. We cut out about a metre either side, join new board in, and seal and paint it.
Water that gets behind the gutter rots the fascia from the back, out of sight. With the gutter off we replace the soft lengths, refix the soffit battens and eave sheet, and have the gutter refitted.
Gable fascias and barge boards take the weather side-on. We replace the rotted sections, trim them back to the roof tiles with primed mouldings and paint them before or after they go up.
Where a corner keeps rotting, we can replace it and cap it in Colorbond steel to match the paint, so there is no timber end left for water to soak into.

A split corner, a blocked outlet or a gutter without enough fall keeps the fascia wet. We get the gutter sorted with our licensed plumber in the same job, or the new board rots too.
Bare end grain at joints and nail holes soaks up water. We prime every cut end and seal the joins before the top coats go on.
Old nails and gutter brackets rust and split the timber around them. Holes are filled and new fixings go into sound timber.
A box gutter that overflows soaks the fascia beam from inside. We open it up, replace and strengthen what has rotted, and have the box gutter fixed.
From the ground is fine. It shows us the length and the height.
We probe the timber to find how far the rot goes and work out the access.
