We have replaced a back door in Bell Park and repaired a fence and handrails for a local office, and we can keep the suburb’s postwar homes, units and rentals in good order. Three in ten homes here are rented, and settlement began in the 1950s.
Bell Park was settled from the 1950s, many of its homes built by postwar European migrants, and now includes units and townhouses.
Among our 4 Bell Park jobs: replacing a back door to match the existing one with a new handle, repairing a fence and tightening handrails and fitting fixtures at an office, and installing a joinery unit at a local clinic. A worn back door or a loose handrail is typical of what older houses need.
Victorian Places says many settlers built make-do bungalows until they could afford better-finished homes. At the 2021 census 13% of homes were semis or townhouses, about 30 hectares is zoned for increased housing diversity, and Vicmap added 67 new addresses in 2025 and 2026 across many streets. Older houses next to new units need repairs, upgrades and the occasional rebuild of a tired back deck.
A view-sharing overlay covers about a quarter of Bell Park, and needs a permit only to build or extend a dwelling more than 7.5 metres above natural ground. There is no heritage overlay in the suburb, so most single-storey work is simpler here than in older Geelong suburbs.
Running a business in the Bell Park industrial area or on Anakie Road, or looking after a school? That side of our work is on our commercial carpentry page for Bell Park.

Prompt, great communication and a terrific job. Have used JF Maintenance for lots of work over the years and would recommend.
Michael worked with our budget and we were so impressed by their diligence and workmanship. They did not cut corners but went the extra mile. So impressed we engaged them again at another property.
Beyond our expectations, and it was great to work with people who could turn our ideas into something better than we imagined. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough.
Bell Park was named after the Bell Park homestead, built by early settler John Bell. Residential settlement began in the 1950s, and Holy Family school opened in 1955.
The 2021 census counted 5,602 residents with a median age of 41. Postwar houses, units and a high share of rentals are why the work here is steady repair and practical upgrades.
