Taking out the wall between a kitchen and a living area, widening an opening, or putting a doorway where there wasn’t one. We take the wall out, deal with what was in it, and make good the ceiling, walls and floor so the room looks like it was always one space. The plastering and painting are done by the same team.

Most jobs are one of the first three, and every one of them finishes with the fourth.
The most common one: the wall between the kitchen and the family room comes out, so the cook isn’t shut away from everyone else.
A doorway widened into an opening, a pantry door resized, or a new doorway cut into a wall and framed for a door or a cavity slider.
The other way round: a doorway or window filled in, or a new wall framed across an opening to make another room, then plastered and painted.
Ceiling patched and cornice matched, walls plastered, skirtings run through, the floor joined or replaced, and the whole room painted.

We look at the wall at the first visit and tell you what is involved in taking it out before we quote.
Power points, switches, pipes and data cables. The licensed electricians and plumbers we work with move them as part of the job.
Two rooms often have different floor heights or coverings. We work out how they will join before the wall comes out, not after.
Doors, skirtings, cornices and paint colours, so the finished room looks like one room.
A photo of both sides, and what you want the room to become.
At the wall, what is in it, and how the rooms either side will join.
Removal, trades, plaster, flooring and paint, all set out.
Wall out, services moved, everything made good and painted.
The dividing wall taken out and the old kitchen removed, the plumbing and electrical roughed in, the walls and opened sections plastered, a new kitchen installed, cornice fitted, the kitchen and dining area tiled, and the whole room painted. 2023.
A pantry cut back to a standard pull-out, the space turned into a walk-in linen with L-shaped shelving, and the pantry door opening resized, as part of a new kitchen. 2026.
The front door and frame replaced with a 1020 mm door and a window beside it filled in, a laundry window closed from inside and the walls replastered, and the laundry wall rebuilt. 2021.
The walls, windows and floor of an enclosed outdoor area removed, the wiring cleared by the electrician, and new clear roof sheets fitted over it. 2025.
A plaster wall taken off to expose one window, another window removed and the opening framed up and clad in cement sheet, and both sides painted. 2024.
A timber-framed wall built across an opening with sound insulation, two layers of sound-rated plaster each side, a solid door and new power and data, then painted. 2023.
Opening up a room usually leads to one of these.
We open up rooms across Geelong, the Surf Coast, the Bellarine and Golden Plains. Pick your town to see everything else we do there.
Send us a photo of both sides of the wall and tell us what you have in mind, and we will come and look and give you a free estimate.
