When too many boards have rotted to patch, or you are ready for something new, we replace the weatherboards on a wall or the whole house. Timber to match the original, or fibre cement weatherboards that won’t rot. The old boards come off, the frame is repaired and insulated, and the new cladding goes on flashed and painted.

A re-clad is more than new boards. What is behind them decides how long they last.
New timber boards in the profile of the original, for older homes where the look of the house matters. Every cut end primed before fixing.
James Hardie Linea and Scyon boards: the look of timber without the rot. Fixed with the right stops, joiners and corner trims so the joins stay sealed.
Two-storey walls and lofts re-clad from scaffold set up for the job, so every board is fixed and painted properly at height.
Rotted framing replaced with treated pine, insulation and wrap fitted while the wall is open, and new flashings around every window and door.

When the rot runs along most of the bottom courses and up around the windows, cutting in boards one by one costs more than it saves.
Boards that have split and cupped won’t keep paint however often they are painted.
Old walls usually have nothing in them. A re-clad is the time to insulate.
Fibre cement weatherboards on part of the house, or the whole house, change how it looks from the street. For Axon, panels or metal, see our cladding page.
