Rotten boards at the bottom of the wall, split boards around the windows, holes, gaps and boards that have lost their paint. We cut out what has failed, fix what let the water in, cut in new boards to match the old profile and paint them, so the repair disappears into the wall.

Most weatherboard repairs are the first two together: rotten boards out, and new ones that match the old.
Boards go soft where water sits: the bottom few courses, under windows, behind downpipes and around the hot water service. We cut back to sound timber, check the frame behind, and cut in new boards with every end primed.
Older Geelong homes have splayed, rusticated and bullnose boards in sizes that aren’t all stocked any more. We match from stock, have timber milled to the profile, or reuse sound boards from a less visible wall.
Small damage doesn’t always need a new board. Holes are filled, splits and gaps sealed, and the boards painted to match.
The corner stops, plinths and base boards rot first because they sit lowest and take the splash. We replace them with the boards around them.

Overflowing gutters and leaking downpipes run water down the wall. We sort the gutter with our licensed plumber in the same job.
Windows without side flashings let water in behind the boards. We take the boards off, flash the window and put them back.
Garden beds, paving and mulch built up against the bottom board keep it wet. We point it out, and keep new boards clear of the ground.
Once the paint goes, the timber soaks up water. Cut ends are primed before fixing and the repair is painted to match.
