Leaning fences, posts rotted off at the ground, broken rails, missing palings and storm damage. We fix the part that has failed, match it to the fence that is left, and stain it so the repair blends in. If a fence is past fixing, we tell you before you spend money on it.

Most fences fail at the bottom of the posts first. That is where we look before anything else.
A post that has rotted at the ground or been knocked loose lets the whole bay lean. We dig it out, set a new post in concrete and refix the rails, or brace it where the ground can’t be dug.
Rails split at the post or rot where water sits on them. We replace them, refix the palings, and stain the new timber to match.
Palings blown off, kicked out or pulled by a dog. New palings go back in to match the run.
Sections pushed over by wind or a falling branch. We make it safe first, propping or closing the gap, then repair or rebuild the damaged bays.
Cut or slack wire re-joined and re-tensioned, damaged posts reinforced, and chain wire mesh patched to match.

Garden beds, sprinklers and soil heaped against the palings keep the timber wet. We set new posts in concrete and keep the bottom of the fence clear of the dirt.
Old posts were sometimes set in dirt or a shallow footing. A repair sets the new post properly, so the bay next to it doesn’t pull it over again.
Gas and water meters often sit right at the fence line. Where a post can’t be re-concreted, we brace it to the next post instead.
Climbing plants, shade cloth and things hung on the fence add load and catch the wind. We tell you what has been pulling it over so the repair lasts.
Of the damage and the fence either side. It shows us how far it goes.
How many are sound, how many are gone, and whether repair or replacement makes sense.
For the repair, or for both options if it is close, so you and your neighbour can decide.
Posts, rails and palings replaced, stained to suit, and the mess taken away.
Two rails replaced on a timber fence at an entrance, the 200 × 200 mm end post concreted back in, and the new rails stained to match. 2021.
A fence post loosened next to the gas and water meters, braced to the gate post with a galvanised bracket and painted to match, with the gate latch and drop bolt fixed while we were there. 2023.
Corner posts replaced and set in concrete, the fence clamps renewed and the fence put back up. 2021.
Posts reinforced where they had been cut, and the wires joined and re-tensioned. 2026.
A missing section of side fence rebuilt on top of a retaining wall, and the existing post re-concreted. 2020.
A cut section of chain wire fence replaced with black PVC-coated mesh to match the rest. 2020.
A fence repair often leads to one of these.
