Side gates, driveway gates and gates made to fit an odd opening. We build them in timber or on a galvanised steel frame, clad them to match your fence, and hang them so they swing clear, close properly and lock. We also fix the gates that drag, sag and won’t latch.

A gate gets used more than any other part of a fence, so it has to be built and hung right.
Every gate we build is made for its opening: the width between the house and the fence, the fall of the path, and what the gate has to match. We make the frame in timber or galvanised steel and clad it in palings, pickets, vertical slats or horizontal merbau.
The gate between the house and the boundary fence. Where there is no post to hang it from, we fix a timber post to the house wall to take the hinges.
Pairs of gates on strong posts, with a drop bolt into the ground to hold one leaf while the other opens, and a wheel under a wide leaf if it needs carrying.
Painted wire and mesh gates on post-and-rail fences, around front gardens and for keeping pets in.

Hinges work loose and a timber frame racks out of square. We rehang it on new fixings, square it up, or rebuild it on a steel frame.
A gate that drags has dropped, or the path has risen. We lift it, trim it, or fit a gate wheel to carry the weight.
Once a gate drops, the latch and striker no longer line up. We realign them after the gate is hung properly, not before.
Dirt and stones fill the hole in the ground, so the bolt can’t drop far enough to hold. We clean it out so the gate locks again.
A gate post that leans takes the whole gate with it. We reset or replace the post first, then rehang the gate.

Frame, cladding, hinges, latch and any locks, set out in full.
Made to fit, hung so it swings clear and closes, and the hardware adjusted before we leave.
