Inverleigh’s commercial side is small: a High Street township strip, a bluestone hotel, the school, hall and reserve. We have done 2 jobs here, one a day of painting conduits and pipework on a building, and we work often in Bannockburn up the road.
There is no commercial or industrial zone in Inverleigh. Local business and service uses sit in the Township Zone along High Street and the streets behind it.
Our Inverleigh list is short: 2 jobs. One was day-rate painting of exposed conduits and pipework down the side of a building, two coats from a ladder; the other was at a home. We also work close by, with 13 jobs in Bannockburn and 4 in and around Winchelsea.
The Township Zone covers 48.8 hectares and 193 addresses, and the structure plan says it allows a mix of local business and service industry. The Inverleigh Hotel, a large bluestone successor to the Horseshoe Inn, and the public hall both carry external paint controls, so external repainting may need a permit.
A builder’s project page lists a full-line IGA with a bottle shop and three specialty tenancies, about 1,150 square metres, for 24 High Street, still in design and waiting on planning approval. With no sewer, any supermarket site needs room for on-site effluent and parking. The recreation reserve has $320,000 funded for LED lights on its second oval.

Prompt, great communication and a terrific job. Have used JF Maintenance for lots of work over the years and would recommend.
Beyond our expectations, and it was great to work with people who could turn our ideas into something better than we imagined. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough.
Michael worked with our budget and we were so impressed by their diligence and workmanship. They did not cut corners but went the extra mile. So impressed we engaged them again at another property.
In 1843 William Lawson built an inn near a ford across the Barwon River. He built the Horseshoe Inn in 1851–53, and a township was proclaimed in 1853.
The 1913 railway from Gheringhap to Ararat runs through the town and has since become the major freight line. The structure plan aims to keep commercial growth inside the existing town centre, so the work here stays small and local.
