We can maintain Marshall’s aged-care home, retirement village community centres and club pavilions, and work for builders as the new station precinct goes up. More than a third of the suburb’s addresses are in retirement villages.
Marshall has no shopping strip or industrial land. Its commercial buildings are aged care, village community centres, sports pavilions and the station.
Mercy Place Rice Village on Moylan Loop has 92 aged-care rooms and a retirement living precinct of 73 units. Barwarre Gardens has a community centre, gym, bowling pavilion and a dining area with a commercial kitchen, and Geelong Grove is on Barwarre Road. Care settings need doors, rails, joinery and repairs done quietly, around residents.
Our 2 Marshall jobs were inside homes: a sagging ceiling propped back up and screwed off, with new plaster and cornice and a back door replaced; and a rangehood, exhaust fan and toilet seat fitted. That is the same careful, tidy work villages and care homes ask for.
The Marshall precinct structure plan was gazetted in December 2025 for about 123 hectares beside the station, with mixed-use land where shops up to 750 square metres and a supermarket up to 2,000 square metres won’t need a permit. Builders will need carpentry trades as it develops. The J F Field Memorial Pavilion is on Marshall Reserve, and the Geelong & District Riding Club is also in Marshall.

Beyond our expectations, and it was great to work with people who could turn our ideas into something better than we imagined. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough.
Prompt, great communication and a terrific job. Have used JF Maintenance for lots of work over the years and would recommend.
Michael worked with our budget and we were so impressed by their diligence and workmanship. They did not cut corners but went the extra mile. So impressed we engaged them again at another property.
Marshall is named after Thomas Marshall, whose wool scouring works opened in the mid-1850s. Its station closed in 1964 and reopened in 2005, and in 2012 more than two-thirds of the old suburb became Charlemont.
Care homes, retirement villages and a station precinct about to be built are why the commercial work here is careful maintenance now and new construction ahead.
