We fix doors and hardware and keep community buildings working across Norlane, and we can fit out tenancies, from the old Ford site on Melbourne Road to the shops at Labuan Square. It is one of the north’s busiest mixes of industry, health and education.
Norlane’s commercial side runs from heavy industry by the bay to clinics, schools and shops among the houses.
The former Ford factory at 365–455 Melbourne Road was sold in 2019 for manufacturing and technology businesses and is now the Fortek precinct. In 2025 a drone maker doubled its space there to 8,000 square metres as part of a refurbishment of about 150,000 square metres of industrial and trade space, and new tenancy addresses were created in 2026. The complex is on the Victorian Heritage Register, so any works, inside or out, need checking against the heritage registration first.
Our 12 Norlane jobs include sticky double doors to a rooftop plant room, a commercial door planed and re-capped so it closes properly, a flagpole repaired and old cyclone fencing removed, and graffiti cleaned off a street cabinet. In buildings used all day by the public, a door that sticks or old fencing that needs removing becomes a safety problem quickly.
Barwon Health North opened on Princes Highway in 2020, the Northern Aquatic and Community Hub opened in February 2024, and work began in 2025 on the Wathaurong co-operative’s hub on Morgan Street, with GP rooms and a 300-seat function space. Add the Northern Bay College campuses and aged care, and there is a lot of floor space that needs regular maintenance.

Prompt, great communication and a terrific job. Have used JF Maintenance for lots of work over the years and would recommend.
Michael worked with our budget and we were so impressed by their diligence and workmanship. They did not cut corners but went the extra mile. So impressed we engaged them again at another property.
Beyond our expectations, and it was great to work with people who could turn our ideas into something better than we imagined. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough.
The Housing Commission’s shopping centre, Labuan Square, opened in 1954 and upgraded with new lighting, seating and alfresco space in 2023. The Bellpost Shopping Centre on Anakie Road has a supermarket and 21 specialty shops, and there is a newer warehouse-unit complex on Corio Quay Road.
That mix of heritage industry, public buildings and busy shops is why the commercial work here is fit-outs, doors and steady maintenance.
