North Shore is home for JFM: our base is on Seaside Parade. Our one job in the suburb so far was a new double-door opening cut into an industrial building, and we have done 108 jobs in North Geelong and 59 in Corio on either side.
There is no shopping zone in North Shore. More than half the suburb is Industrial 2 land and about a quarter is port, with a small pocket of homes.
We cut a new 2100 x 1840 double-door opening into an existing wall of an industrial building, framed it in timber, matched the handle, sealed it all round and painted it. Partitions, doors and offices inside units are the same kind of job.
North Shore’s 233 industrial addresses run along Seaside Parade, Seabright and Seaforth Streets, Beatty Street and Walchs Road, with strata units at 6 Beatty Street and at 7 Seaside Parade, near our own base. On this land a street fence needs a permit if it is solid and over 1.5 metres high, or unpainted galvanised steel or uncoated wire, and offices are encouraged at the front of the building.
North Shore holds 56 hectares of port land, including Corio Quay North with a woodchip business and a grain bunker. Around the homes, an overlay for the port means buildings and works need no permit unless they are linked to an office, childcare, education, accommodation or a place of assembly. Parts of the port land are also in flood and coastal-inundation overlays.

Michael worked with our budget and we were so impressed by their diligence and workmanship. They did not cut corners but went the extra mile. So impressed we engaged them again at another property.
Prompt, great communication and a terrific job. Have used JF Maintenance for lots of work over the years and would recommend.
Beyond our expectations, and it was great to work with people who could turn our ideas into something better than we imagined. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough.
Industry arrived in 1899 with a meat freezing works. The mouth of Cowies Creek was dug out to become Corio Quay from 1909, and by the mid-1920s the area around the creek had become known as North Shore.
Today more than half the suburb is Industrial 2 land and a quarter is port, with no shopping zone at all. Commercial work here means units, workshops and port sites.
