The Ingenia Gardens and Townsend Gardens retirement villages are both in St Albans Park. We have done repairs at a village here: propping a fence, replacing pavers at two units and easing a sticking door. We have also re-grouted a shower floor for another commercial client. For residents, a door that drags or an uneven path is a fall risk, so these jobs matter more than their size.
Calvary Rococo and Bolton Clarke Tannoch Brae aged-care homes are inside the suburb, and The Geelong Clinic’s 1,400 square metre expansion, due in mid-2021, was to take it to 79 beds. That expansion added 27 beds.
The Geelong Water Ski Club’s clubhouse and the Whittington Senior Citizens Club are also inside the suburb. Near the Barwon, the Rivers of the Barwon landscape overlay lets a building under 6 metres high add up to 50 square metres without a planning permit, but a solid fence needs one unless it is an open or rural style.

St Albans Park takes its name from the rural town of St Albans and/or the St Albans homestead and horse stud, set up in 1873 and run by James Wilson; the homestead is now on the Victorian Heritage Register. The suburb was part of Whittington until about 1999, and its shopping is done next door in Newcomb.
