We can maintain Whittington’s schools, aged-care home, retirement village and community centres, and fit out and repair its shops. A $6.9 million specialist school rebuild is starting this year.
Whittington’s commercial buildings are two schools, aged care, community centres and two small groups of shops.
MacKillop Specialist School’s $6.9 million redevelopment on Oxford Street began with demolition in September 2026, with the builder starting in mid-November. Whittington Primary on Worden Court had a $6.6 million upgrade with flexible learning spaces, art and music rooms and a half-size gym. Schools need repairs, doors and joinery kept up between projects.
Eden Park aged care on Thompson Street offers respite, permanent and dementia care, and the Acacia Court retirement village is on Wilsons Road. The Whittington Link precinct, with the living and learning centre, preschool and childcare, is nearing the end of its useful life, council says, with no funding yet for its replacement, so the old buildings need keeping up.
There are shops on Wilsons Road, and the former Whittington shopping centre at Apollo Place, about 1,000 square metres in six shops, was offered for sale after its tenants left. About half of the suburb is in a flood overlay, where most buildings and works, including fences, need a permit. We have worked in Newcomb, St Albans Park and Moolap, all next door.

Prompt, great communication and a terrific job. Have used JF Maintenance for lots of work over the years and would recommend.
Michael worked with our budget and we were so impressed by their diligence and workmanship. They did not cut corners but went the extra mile. So impressed we engaged them again at another property.
Beyond our expectations, and it was great to work with people who could turn our ideas into something better than we imagined. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough.
Whittington took its name in the early 1920s and grew in the 1960s around a Housing Commission estate. The former Black Swan Hotel on Boundary Road, from the 1850s, was a social centre for the local community.
Two schools, aged care, ageing community buildings and two shopping sites are why the commercial work here is education and community maintenance.
